Shakespear Sonnet Slam, NYC

Public speaking is generally outside most people’s comfort zone. My work involves public speaking in a sense. BUT… usually I’m speaking as someone else. Usually they’re not my words or ideas. Or rarely shared sentiments. But when celebrated acting teacher Margie Haber asks me to be on her podcast it doesn’t compute as speaking in public…

We’re just going to have a conversation.

What could be more comfortable? Sitting in my air conditioned apartment during a heatwave, talking about growth and personal power with someone I admire. Just two gals having a kiki. But then months later as the temperature begins to cool, there’s a message that the podcast episode has dropped. The long forgotten one on one chat is now available to tens of hundreds of ears. I feel my cells tighten, the sensation of discomfort. Oh irony. The conversation is about f*king your comfort zone… which is also the name of the podcast… and the title of her book-
F*ck Your Comfort Zone: Take a Risk and Become the Lead in Your Own Life.

Ah f*ck it, without further ado I offer you episode 37 of F*ck Your Comfort Zone. Please click and have a listen while you wash some dishes or take a walk.
I’d love to know if anything resonated. And I look forward to sharing more thoughts on Margie’s book. It’s a great tool for actors and non actors alike.
