They had been in bed for twenty-four hours.  Literally twenty-four hours! Like characters in a low-budget movie, where the girl with matted hair and smeared eyeliner is impossibly hot, and they guys is addict skinny but has great skin and a smile that slays you.  Just like that, except Jonas has had problem skin since eighth grade (his sister regularly sends him products she finds on the Shopping Channel) and his smile? Well let’s just say he has British teeth.  But Maddy doesn’t care about these things.  Yes she is a beauty, but as pretty as she is she would never be cast as the heroine, she’s more the sidekick type with her stinging wit and oversized glasses.  She’s not amazed that Jonas captured her heart with his soulful lyrics and is her equal in scathing observations on the state of the world.  But this carnal connection is overwhelming, she is terrified and thrilled.  How changed will she be when she returns to the world?
