I’ve written in the past about being a lover of lists.  Not necessarily lists of Bests and Worsts, they can be too simplistic. But I love that lists can make order out of chaos simply by lining up data.

I have piles of books and notebooks full of quotes, aphorisms, and koans – so many words to live by!  I reflected on my own experiences and put the thoughts into my own words.  Here is my little list.

WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE ABOUT LIFE… so far.

Life is in constant flux –  Change is the one constant.    Trust in change.

Whatever you’re going through, accept that this too shall pass.

Everyone wants to be seen.  You can’t always look everyone in the eye, but always acknowledge someone doing you a service.

 PLEASE and THANK YOU matter.

Find something you love doing.  DO IT.  If you can’t make a living at it, find a way to do it as much as possible.  Life is better when you have a passion.

Don’t should on yourself.  It’s messy.  Keep your motivations clear – want to do the things you do.

EVERYONE messes up.  Forgive yourself.  Move on.

Persistent thoughts will persist into being truth.  if you think you can’t, you can’t.

Comparing to others is the biggest waste of time.  Our joys and sorrows are custom-made and cannot be sold separately.

TURN UP AND DO YOUR BEST.  Know that it changes from moment to moment.

Words have power.  Say what you mean, do what you say.  Speak the truth but not the harsh truth.
